Chris is the Founder and Principal of Heritage Legal, PC, with offices in Palm Springs and San Diego. Heritage Legal, PC offers legal services in the general areas of estate planning (wills and trusts), trust administration, probate, family law and consumer bankruptcy. Chris has focused an important part of his practice on the unique estate and relationship planning needs of the LGBT community and other non-traditional families. Chris earned his B.A. in Russian Area Studies from the University of Maryland, and his Juris Doctorate from The American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington, D.C.
Chris is a frequent contributor of feature articles for The BottomLine Magazine and is oftentimes asked to speak on various legal topics.

Lucy T. Friedman, Legal Assistant
Lucy has two grown children and a grandson. With a B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology from Ohio State University, she was an educator and training specialist for social workers, then Deputy Director of the Ohio Department of Public Welfare for many years. A move to California resulted in a career shift into marketing and sales, most recently as a distributor and consultant to medical laboratories. Retirement from that position allowed her to learn new skills as a Commissioned Notary Public and in legal support services. Lucy is active in many organizations devoted to equality and civil liberties.

Liz Heritage, Receptionist
Liz is Chris' Mom, putting her talents to work for our firm. Originally from Germany, she graduated with a business degree, and worked with a tax and accounting agency before marrying Jack Heritage and moving to the Washington, D.C. area. While raising Chris and his sister Sonja, Liz was a successful real estate broker for many years until she and Jack moved in 2007 to California.
